На 25 октомври от 19:00 ч. ще се запознаем със Sofie Amalie Andersen и филма, върху който тя работи в момента "A day at the museum". Софи е резидентка в Iatrus Residency Program.

A day at the museum is the working title of a new short film by Danish artist Sofie Amalie Andersen. For the occasion of the end of her stay at the Iatrus residency Andersen will present an excerpt of her work in progress and invite the audience for a critical discussion afterwards.
The film takes us through the Earth and Man National Museum in Sofia (Национален музей “Земята и хората”), which houses one of the world’s biggest mineralogical collections. But the museum, located in a former weapon arsenal, also presents a unique eclectic display, comprising plants, paintings, musical instruments, stages and mirrors next to giant crystals and scientific information posters from the 1980s. With her camera slowly panning over the esthetically intriguing tableaus, Andersen unfolds her thoughts on why and what and how and whom: how did the impressive mineral collection end up here in the first place, what materials ranks higher than others, who decided to place a giant organ and two massive murals in the middle, and why is all this interesting? The narration leads us from historical facts and geographical context to reflections about materiality and hierarchies – and reveals the artists doubts about her own outsider fetichism, inherited perspectives and limited knowledge.
