She has also been organizing Art Collider, a school where art meets science bringing communities together, since 2017. Currently, Kapar curates a hybrid reality project Steppe Space, the place for contemporary art and culture of Central Asia, and initiated projects of care for lake ecosystems SOS Taldykol and Care for Balkhash in 2020. Her key previous works include Re-membering: Dialogues of Memories, an international intergenerational project in memory of survivors and victims of 20th-century political repressions in Kazakhstan (2019), and Time&Astana: After Future, an urban art research and engagement project (2017-2018).

About Teodora Jeremić

Teodora Jeremić who is an art historian, freelance curator, and writer based in Belgrade. She has several years of experience in working as a curator and art producer in self-organized spaces as well as galleries and has curated a number of solo and group shows. She was working as curator and project manager at Hestia Art Residency Exhibitions Bureau, space focusing on art practices and contemporary issues in Eastern Europe, Latin America and the MENA region. 2021 she has been appointed as one of the curators of Biennial of Young Artists in Belgrade. She also worked as an art producer at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade. Currently she is the editorial director of VOGUE Adria with its first issue launching in March 2024.

Teodora‘s curatorial expertise mostly focuses on research at the intersection of decolonial practices, feminist resistance and ecological thought. Interested in the power relations along the axes of gender, class, race, species and geography, and coming from borderland space, “the Other” of Europe, where Balkan myth meets post-socialist reality mixed with post-yugoalavian traumas and nostalgias and everlasting dreams of EU, her practice is focused on transitional, liminal, marginal and hybrid, in order to understand how any type of border, knowledge and identity is being established as well as how to challenge them. She favors open structures, horizontality and dialogues; thinks of curating as a platform for (un)learning, sharing and healing; believes in vulnerability and experiment; and above all the necessity of a transformation and co-construction of the new politics and alliances.

*Aigerim Kapar’s and Teodora Jeremić‘s research and participation at @iatrus_residency_program has been made possible thanks to the mobility program of @nationalculturefund of Bulgaria
